Follow the primeval path of sun and sea.

Welcome to Greece, a magical place that entices even the most demanding traveller thanks to its natural beauties and unrivalled history spanning thousands of years.

Located at the crossroads of three continents and five seas, Greece had the privilege and the luck to play a leading role in several periods of human history. What should we remember first? The Minoan and Myceneaen Civilizations, the Classical Athens and Sparta or Alexander the Great, conqueror of the world? Knossos and Mycenae, the Acropolis and the Parthenon or Vergina and the royal tombs of the Macedonian kings? The heroes of the Greek mythology, the audacious deeds of glorious Ulysses or the Twelve Olympians? Greece is one of the most impressive historical palimpsest of mankind. For centuries it has been an inspiration for painters, sculptors, poets and writers.

Come and listen to its history
For more than 2,500 years, Athens has been the cradle of democracy and philosophy as well as the heart of this sun-kissed country. Even today, Athens is the most emblematic place of Western civilization. Nobody can imagine Occident without Plato and Aristotle, Pericles and Thucydides, Aeschylus and Sophocles, Pheidias and Praxitelis. However, Greece is not only the ancient times. It is also Byzantium and, of course, the younger greek state which emerged after the revolution of 1821 against the Ottoman Empire.

Live a unique journey in human history
Whatever stone you touch, it will tell you a story. It is not by chance, that in proportion to its population, Greece has the most world heritage monuments (18 sites) as acknowledged and protected by UNESCO as well as countless other archaeological and historical treasures of great importance waiting to be discovered.

Visit archaeological sites and museums of enormous cultural significance, as the Acropolis with its museum, the Kerameikos and the Archeological Museum in Athens, the monuments and the museum of Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games, Mycenae and Mystras in Peloponnese, the Delphic oracle in central Greece, Vergina and the Byzantine monuments in Thessaloniki. Enjoy stunning Delos, situated against the spectacular Aegean blue, the Minoan Bronze Age settlement in Akrotiri on the volcanic island of Santorini and the Palace of Knossos on Crete.

Greece is the kingdom of light, a place literally shaped by the radiant sun and the blue sea. Endowed with a glorious history and culture, one of the best climates on earth and an exciting and diverse geomorphology, it would not be an exaggeration to say that Greece is a country truly blessed by gods.
